Kryptos no es un libro normal y no debe ser leído de la manera acostumbrada, secuencialmente desde la primera hasta la última página. Si procedes de ese modo, la historia no tendrá ningún sentido, ya que los capítulos que la componen han sido ubicados desordenadamente. Kryptos ha sido concebido para convertirse en una experiencia interactiva y desafiante en la que el lector es el verdadero protagonista. Así pues, en esta novela el lector no se limita a leer cómo los personajes de la historia resuelven los enigmas que se van encontrando, sino que adopta el papel principal y se enfrenta a los puzles, adivinanzas y acertijos que salen al paso. No sólo está permitido, sino que a veces es la única manera de solucionar el problema planteado. También es posible que, en algún punto, te sientas atascado o no sepas cómo continuar. Si eso te sucede, no te preocupes. Dentro de la aplicación, accede a la sección “Obtener pista” e introduce el número de la página en que te encuentras. Se te suministrarán una serie de pistas asociadas al enigma que debes resolver. Puedes decidir cuántas pistas utilizar, o incluso si quieres que la solución te sea revelada.
