World Cup Fanatic is an Android application developed from June 1, 2014 - June 13, 2014 for HP IDOL OnDemand Ultimate Sports Fan Hackathon TopCoder challenge. It is an application for fans following the FIFA 2014 Brazil World Cup. It shows photos, news, and Twitter feeds related to FIFA World Cup, with data analysis using HP IDOL OnDemand API. World Cup Fanatic uses sentiment analysis, entity extraction, query text index, and object storage from the OnDemand API to provide a richer user-experience. World Cup Fanatic Fanatic automatically provides the user Wikipedia context to articles they are reading, as well as to the images they browse. World Cup Fanatic also allows the user to see which countries are the most talked about as they read through the newest FIFA World Cup related Twitter statuses from around the world. Related news articles are found and displayed alongside other news from the FIFA RSS feed.
