Super Sight Word Adventure

Learn sight words and nouns. Developed by an educator, using techniques to improve retention and engage students in learning. Features: * Up to 3 different users * Tracks each user's progress on each sight word * Parents can choose the practice words * Two new sight words and three review sight words are chosen each round to increase retention Games: * Eat the Fish * Matching Shells * Find the Treasure Sight words are learned in Kindergarten and reinforced in 1st grade, 2nd grade, and 3rd grade. Tips for Parents: * Teach your child responsibility by helping them set goals. * Establish rewards for completing their goals * Mentor your child through their goal but don't nag * Help your child set a specific time every day to work on learning sight words Example Questions to Ask Child When Setting a Goal: * "Good job passing list 2. How many days do you think it will take you to pass list 3?" * "What reward would you like when you pass list 3?" (I like to take my daughter to the store to pick out her reward at the beginning of the list and then put it up so that she can have it as soon as she finishes. Rewards that have worked for my daughter: candy, art supplies, playing a game with just mom, getting to go to the movie theatre to watch a movie she wants to see) Example Questions to Encourage Responsibility: * "Can you show me how far you are on list 3?" In the car on the way to the store? After dinner? After you get ready for bed?" Ways to Play With Your Child: * Take turns on the Matching Shells * Have your child spell the sight word on the Treasure Chest and you pick that chest * Time how long it takes for your child to complete an activity
