Gin Rummy Card Game works without internet
Gin Rummy or Gin Card Game is a variant of Rummy, and created by Elwood Baker and and Graham Baker in 1909. The objective of the game is to reach an agreed number of points which is usually 100. You can improve your points by creating melds and removing deadwood. There are two types of melds in a Gin Card Game. 1. Sets of three or four cards that share the same rank . For example 5 of ace, 5 of diamond, 5 of spades 2. Runs of three or more cards in a sequence. example 2 of hearts, 3 of hearts, 4 of hearts or more. A deadwood is a card that does not contribute towards a meld. A hand contains 3 or fewer melds to knock of create a legal gin. What is deadwood count? - It is sum of the point values of deadwood cards. Aces have a point value of 1 and face cards have a point value of 10. The other cards have points value equal to their numerical values. Note: Overlapping melds are not allowed. How to play Gin Rummy? The non dealing player can either pick the card from the pile or pass. If the player picks the card then he/she has to give another card from his cards to the pile. The other player can now take the top card from the pile. However, if the non dealing player chooses to pass, the other player can either pick the top card or pass. If the other player also passes, then the non dealing player must pick from the stock pile. The game ends when either of the player KNOCKS, goes GIN, or only two cards remain in the stock pile. What is KNOCKING and going GIN? A player that has 10 or lesser deadwood points can knock. Knocking with 0 deadwood points means going GIN.
