Bolt For Gold

Bolt for Gold is a mobile app which allows runners to race and compete from anywhere around the world. The app creates a competitive platform for runners of all abilities to congregate and compete in large-scale races, without ever having to stray too far from their daily routine. The Bolt for Gold app provides users with a list of every upcoming race. The users can see the start time and prizes of the races on the home page, which appear in chronological order. Users can save their favourite race and set a reminder to be notified 5 minutes before the race starts. Every user must enter the race, by clicking on it, a minimum of 30 seconds before the race start time. At 30 seconds all users will get an individual path generated starting at their current location (or the closest public access point). The path generated is the distance of the race and a user can refresh their path to avoid hazards but only for the final 30 seconds. After the race time strikes 0 seconds and starts, the users path is locked in. The race time is synchronized on the Bolt for Gold app meaning races begin simultaneously for every runner no matter where they are. When the user runs the path and completes the set race distance they will receive a position of where they placed against the other runners who participated. The winner of the race will be shown a Paypal cart where they can claim the cash prize. Bolt for Gold allows users to make their own races, challenge their friends, host team events, race across any time zone under their profile. Users can then connect their social media accounts through the app and share their race position and times with any of their friends.
